Label makers definitely have their time and place (I use and love this one from Amazon!), but they do have limitations on size and designs. That is why I created my own DIY labels that are totally customizable and can be printed at home!

Lately I’ve found myself using my DIY labels for more projects than not. They can be used for anything from organization projects to gifts and are SO easy to make!

What you will need:

Step 1: Customize your Labels

I have multiple label templates that you can use to get started! These basic labels have a clean design and come in various sizes. Based on the project, you can add whatever design elements that suit your project!

My template includes the following sizes:

  • 2.75” x 2.75” Square Label: Great for cereal containers & other pantry organizers
  • 2.25″ x 3.25″ Rectangular Label: Great for bin clips
  • 2″ X 3.5″ Rectangular Label: Great for small to medium-sized bins
  • 3″ x 5″ Rectangular Label: Great for large bins
  • 2″ x 1.25″ Rectangular Label: Great for spice jars
  • 1” x 3” Rectangular Label: Great for turntables and short spaces

Get my template (with all sizes) by clicking HERE.

I like to keep my labels pretty minimalist, but I have added borders, florals, and even clip art for kid’s labels based on the project. Customize your labels to your liking and then download your project as a pdf.

Step 2: Print Labels on Matte Sticker Paper

Load your matte vinyl sticker paper (purchase on Amazon here) into your printer and print out your labels. Make sure your scale settings are fit to the page to keep the ratios in tact.

Step 3: Cut out your Labels & Apply

Finally, cut out your labels out. I recommend using a paper cutter to make the process quicker and give crisp, straight edges (I have and love this one).

To use for your project, you just peel off the sticker backing and can stick it on your surface.

That is it! So easy, endlessly customizable, and can be done in minutes from the comfort of your own home.
